Yesterday morning was a happy morning as the nation woke up to the news of Tennis player Sania Mirza and the cricketer Shoaib Malik welcoming their baby boy, Izhaan Mirza Malik. Izhaan, in Urdu, means the gift of God. As Shoaib announced the news on Twitter, he wrote, ‘Excited to announce: It’s a boy, and my girl is doing great and keeping strong as usual #Alhumdulilah. Thank you for the wishes and Duas, we are humbled #BabyMirzaMalik’
Sania delivered the baby during the early hours on Tuesday. She was admitted to Rainbow Children’s Hospital & Birthright by Rainbow at Banjara Hills a day earlier. Sania had announced earlier in the year that their baby will have both Mirza and Malik in the surname, and well, while that is obviously a great thing to do, Izhaan Mirza Malik sounds just as perfect. Sania and Shoaib celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary on April 12, 2018.
As the two embark upon a new phase in their married life, we wish them hearty congratulations and all the good luck.
